Apollo 11 American Eagle Lunar Module

Apollo 11 American Eagle Lunar Module

The Battery Operated Apollo 11 American Eagle Lunar Module was apparently produced as a joint venture between American toy company Mego and Japanese company Daishin Kogyo in 1969.

The toy is composed of tin litho and hard plastic, and its measurements are approximately 7"x7"x8". It is battery operated and performs a variety of functions, including bump-and-go; the hatch opens and shuts; a small plastic astronaut goes in and out an opening in the side; its radar/antenna revolves; lights flash; and it makes a 'lunar' sound.

Two boxes exist for this toy: one features the Mego logo familiar to 70's action figure collectors, and one without. It's possible that the toy was produced by the Japanese firm and simply rebranded for the American market.
