The playset consists of: the foldout of the Emerald City itself; an action figure of the Wizard; a green plastic throne; a spinning crystal ball; a 45"-long foldout Yellow Brick Road; and a cardboard apple tree standee. The Emerald City section is 42" long and is made up of vinyl-covered cardboard. (A more rare version of this playset - shown at right - came with 7 different figures.)
Though not well remembered today, the Wizard of Oz figures from Mego were fairly prominently advertised in their day. The line's sales were moderate, as the characters weren't quite embraced by either girls or boys of the time. The toyline also consisted of action figures for Dorothy, the Tin Man, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, the Wicked Witch, and Glinda the Good Witch.
In addition, other playset existed for the line, including (Welcome To) Munchkinland, which featured a small figure of the Mayor of Munchkinland and a bed; this playset is much more rare than the Emerald City one. Rarer still is the Witch's Castle playset, which was a Sears retailer exclusive from 1974.
