The Riddler
This action figure of the Riddler was released as part of Mego's World's Greatest Super-Heroes line starting in 1973.
This 8" male figure was nude with painted hair and mask, and featured purple hands to simulate gloves. He also wore the distinctive
question-mark-covered green bodysuit and a purple belt. There were no boots or accessories issued.
The Riddler was one of four of Batman's enemies issued as part of this action figure line; the others were the Joker, Catwoman, and
the Penguin.
The Riddler first made his debut in issue #140 of
Detective Comics in October of 1948; after only a few appearances, the
character wouldn't be seen again until 1965 with
Batman #171. He would only become a major Batman villain after
Frank Gorshin portrayed him in several episodes of the
Batman TV series.
