Monster Old Maid card game

Monster Old Maid Monster Old Maid was a set of cards released by Milton Bradley in the 1960's. Children ages 5 to 10 (recommended) could play a game of Old Maid using the cards.

There were only 19 monster-themed cards in the set, with an additional instruction card. The monsters in the set varied from the more famous examples of the genre (Bela Lugosi's Dracula, the Creature from the Black Lagoon) to the more obscure (characters from Hammer horror films). The cards measured 3-1/2"x5-6/8". The backs all had a spider web with the word MONSTER written horizontally across it.

Each monster photo was in black and white with a single-color wash - purple or green (the 'sick' colors popular for monster items during this time).

There were 2 cards of each monster produced except for the Dracula's Daughter (actually the afore-mentioned Hammer lady vampire) card, which was the Old Maid of the game.

Although usually sought after by classic monster enthusiasts, the game is relatively easily found for a modest price.
