The Astronaut lunchbox was released by King Seeley Thermos in 1961. It depicts futuristic scenes on an alien world, which Earth humans
have presumably begun to colonize. The depictions are somewhat child-oriented and very optimistic.
The artwork was done by freelance artist John Polgreen, whose style might have been familiar to many children through the work he
did for The Golden Book of Space Flight.
Astronaut is a domed lunchbox and came with a matching thermos, also depicting similar space scenes.
