Barbie and Midge lunchbox

Barbie and Midge lunchbox Midge Hadley was a doll in the Barbie line of toys by Mattel. She was first released in 1963, and was marketed as Barbie's best friend.

The Barbie and Midge lunchbox was released by American Thermos in 1964. Aladdin had been offered the Barbie license, but stupidly (as with Roy Rogers) they declined. American Thermos would produce several Barbie lunchkits.

The metal version of the Barbie and Midge kit, shown here, was primarily available in Canada. The same design was used in the United States, but only on a vinyl kit.
